AMC Movie FX

by Thomas Carpenter

AMC continues to push their upcoming "The Walking Dead" series and are unveiling more information about the progress of the anticipated Zombie series. We reported on this story a while back and figured it's time to give everyone an update.

The Walking Dead is being filmed in Atlanta, GA. Below is the first production photo released from the set. Creator, Director and Executive Producer Frank Darabont states, "[Special Make-Up FX Artist] Greg Nicotero is absolutely out-doing himself. The work he is doing is beyond what one could hope for. Our Zombies kick ass!"

On the casting front, we've been told that Michael Rooker has signed onto the project. Many fans will remember Rooker from the horror film SLITHER so he will fit right into this world of the undead. Michael recently Tweeted about this development on his Twitter page stating: "On my way to Atlanta soon to work with my new best friend Frank Darabont on "The Walking Dead". It sure seems that this project is gaining a lot of momentum and we're definitely stoked!
