Papercutz Releases a 'Wickeder' Tales from the Crypt Graphic Novel

Papercutz releases a new Tales from The Crypt Graphic Novel
Papercutz has released a new 'Tales from the Crypt' graphic novel featuring the return of their very popular Stinky Dead Kid and other ghoulish stories.

Papercutz, the premiere publisher of such popular graphic novels series as BIONICLE, DISNEY FAIRIES, GERONIMO STILTON, HARDY BOYS, NANCY DREW, and THE SMURFS releases the latest edition of its TALES FROM THE CRYPT series titled "Wickeder."

In the three stories, the original Crypt-Keeper offers his twisted take on
all the countless manifestations of the Wizard of Oz, including the
long-running Broadway musical in Wickeder, a chilling tale about an
off-shore oil rig disaster entitled Kill, Baby, Kill! and to the
delight of countless fans, the much requested return of The Stinky Dead
Kid, Glugg and his little dog in Dead Dog Dies! Ironically, the
non-living character of Glugg has found new life as a continuing comics
character in his own right, no longer needing to be a mere wimpy parody.

Papercutz, the graphic novel publisher was looking to reinvigorate
their kid-friendly revival of the classic 50’s horror comic book Tales
From The Crypt when they cover-featured a parody of Diary of a Wimpy
Kid entitled Diary of a Stinky Dead Kid. The parody proved so popular
that Tales From The Crypt graphic novel #8 Diary of a Stinky Dead Kid
hit Amazon and BarnesandNoble.com’s children’s best-seller lists before
it was released, and has gone back to press for the sixth time. “Glugg
was so captivating in his earlier appearances that fans demanded to see
more stories with him, and Papercutz has responded by bringing him
back, in a real comics’ story, no longer restricted to being doodles in
a kid’s diary,” explains Jim Salicrup, Papercutz Editor-in-Chief.

“Glugg is now presented in an all-new, full-color comics’ tale. He’s
celebrating his death day (the one-year anniversary of his death) and
wishes for cool presents from his zombie and ghoul friends. Glugg’s
only living friend gives him the perfect present-- a dead dog. Until
one night, an intruder digs up his new present and takes off with it.
Now, Glugg is determined to retrieve his pet at all costs! While
originally, Glugg started out as a parody, he’s morphed into being an
original character in his own right, and he’s no longer keeping a
diary. Now he’s more concerned with trying to make the most of his
dead existence.” The stories are for older tween children who enjoy the
ghoulish nature of the Tales From The Crypt graphic novels.

The ever-popular Crypt-Keeper and his GhouLunatics, also present a
spooktacular play based on the works of Frank N. Balmedís Wizard of
Oooze, starring Dotty, who is put on trial for the death of Alfalfa,
the Wickeder Witch. Defending herself with the help of the Good Witch,
Belinda, and her friends the Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man, Dotty
desperately tries to present her innocence.

In Kill, Baby, Kill! Senator Gloria Lorado strongly advocates drilling
for oil off-shore no matter what the cost. All hell breaks loose when
a protester shows up and tries to defend Mother Earth. Expect a
shock-ending in the tried and true Tales From the Crypt tradition.

New York based Papercutz is dedicated to publishing the very best
comics and graphic novels for audiences of all ages and especially the
tween market (8-14). Launched in 2005 with the release of the updated
Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys graphic novels series, co-founders Terry
Nantier and Jim Salicrup stepped into the burgeoning graphic novel
industry with a team of recognized writers and award winning artists.
Nantier, a thirty-year veteran in the comic book field, has become a
recognized trailblazer in the graphics novel industry in the U.S.
Salicrup toiled for Marvel Comics for twenty years, editing the
best-selling Spider-Man comic book ever, which got him into the
Guinness Book of World Records.

The Tales from the Crypt: #9 Wickeder graphic novel is full-color at
$6.99 in paperback and $10.99 in hardcover in a 6 x 9 inch format. Both
hardcover and paperback are 64 pages.

Tales from the Crypt: #9 Wickeder ISBN-13: 978-1-59707-215-1
