That's right folks, yet another classic horror remake is coming at you in 3D. We spotted a poster online for the upcoming "The Gate" remake.

We thought it was funny and obviously unintentional that the tagline says "Pray it's not to late" (which is the same tagline as the original 1987 release). We were thinking this could easily apply humorously to the fact that 3D is probably on it's way out.

Alex Winter will be directing a 3D remake of the film based on a screenplay by Kerric Macdonald.

Three kids release a horde of demons from a hole in their backyard. What follows is a battle between good and evil as the kids struggle to overcome a hell that is literally taking over the Earth.

The remake invokes the original spirit but with updated characters and of course more elaborate special effects. The feeling of the story is one of adventure with some terrifying thrills.

It revolves around Miles and Terry who live in a typical suburban tract. One day, they discover a mysterious crystalline rock in Miles' backyard, they quickly dig up the lawn in search of more. But instead, they unearth The Gate - the opening to an underground chamber containing terrifying evil. The boys soon realize what they have unleashed, as one dire event follows another. With supernatural fiends invading suburbia, it's up to the kids to find the secret that will lock forever THE GATE...If it is not too late.
