Shockfest Film Festival 2011 kicks off this coming weekend in Hollywood, CA. The festival will begin with a Red Carpet event on November 18th at 5:00pm at Raleigh Studios, 5300 Melrose Ave. Hollywood, CA. The Festival picks up again on Saturday November 19th at the same location, and moves to The Hollywood Hardrock Cafe at 11:00pm for award presentations.
One of the big draw of this years festival is the Closing Nightmare Director's Screening of Cabin Fever (10th Anniversary Screening) with Eli Roth, 9:00pm-11pm which includes The Shocking Filmmaker of The Decade Award to Eli Roth
We are giving away 13 VIP tickets to the event. (*Thanks for everyone that entered. At this time, all passes have been awarded. Stay tuned for MoreHorror giveaways soon!). If you live in or around the Hollywood, CA area and would like to attend, simply email your name and address to shockfestcontest@morehorror.com. You are invited to: SHOCKFEST FILM FESTIVAL 5.0 to honor producer/director/writer/actor ELI ROTH with the SHOCKING FILMMAKER OF THE DECADE AWARD Nov 19th 9 pm at RALEIGH STUDIOS CHAPLIN THEATER followed by the 10th anniversary screening of Eli Roth's Cabin Fever.
Director, writer, actor and producer ELI ROTH will be honored November 19th with The Shocking Filmmaker of The Decade Award at the 5th anniversary of the Shockfest Film Festival. The Award will be presented at Raleigh Studios Chaplin Theater at 9:00 p.m immediately preceding the 10th anniversary screening of Roth's iconic horror film Cabin Fever (at Raleigh Studios Chaplin Theater). Cast members of the original Cabin Fever are also invited. There will be a red carpet before the screening at 8:00 p.m. in front of The Chaplin Theater at Raliegh Studios.
"Eli Roth is being honored for his decade of brilliant and shocking films as an actor, writer, director, and producer of Cabin Fever and Hostel I & II, as an actor in Quentin Tarentino's Inglourious Bastards and, most recently, as producer of The Last Exorcism,"explains Robert "Corpsy" Rhine (Girls and Corpses Magazine's Deaditor-In-Chief) who will present Roth with the Golden Spiked Head at Shockfest's closing ceremonies Nov 19th. Festival Director Guil Claveria describes Shockfest as, "The Ultimate Horror Shock Film Festival, a multimedia extravaganza which brings together horror aficionados and fans alike with premier status indie films from all over the world along with a haunted house, dinner theater and the Miss Shockfest pageant."
After receiving the award (in his name) The Eli Roth Shocking Filmmaker of the Year Award will be presented annually at The Shockfest Film Festival to horror filmmakers who most deserve this shocking honor. Immediately following the screening of Cabin Fever, everyone will be moving over to The Hard Rock Hollywood for the Shockfest Film Award presentations, followed by The Miss Shockfest Beauty Pageant.
