“We are really excited to launch the new INDIE HORROR RISING,” producers and co-hosts Jay Sapiro and Christopher A. Micklos said today, “to give filmmakers and others working in the indie horror community another outlet to discuss the practice of making independent films…as well as to reach more horror fans and promote their work.”
INDIE HORROR RISING will be a weekly podcast featuring interviews with indie horror filmmakers, writers, actors, distributors, and others working in today’s diverse indie horror film community. The podcast is intended for fellow filmmakers, genre fans, and students who are interested in in-depth discussions of the challenges, opportunities, and behind-the-scenes fun of indie horror filmmaking. Guests slated to appear on the first several episodes of the podcast are Keith Leopard, Founder/CEO of the distributor Uncork’d Entertainment; award-winning director/actor/producer Miles Doleac of the upcoming film THE DINNER PARTY; Michael Brown and Angela Olson, producers of the HAUNTED STATE documentary films and Amazon Prime series; and more!
INDIE HORROR RISING is produced by Three Tortured Minds, the filmmakers behind the 2018 film THE NURSERY and the upcoming THE HEADMISTRESS. The podcast was originally a 2018 limited-series production, providing a behind-the-scenes, episode-by-episode guide to the making, marketing, and distribution of the filmmakers’ first feature film. In rebooting the podcast, the filmmakers will now focus on other filmmakers, their upcoming projects, and insights into the broader industry.
