EVER AFTER 2026 horror movie official poster featuring the star-studded fairy-tale horror film

Fairy tales have always had a dark side. Long before Disney softened their edges, the forests of folklore were filled with murderous creatures, wicked witches, and all manner of things waiting to devour anyone foolish enough to wander off the path.

Now, EVER AFTER (watch here), takes those familiar childhood stories and drags them into full-blown horror territory, bringing along an impressive collection of genre veterans for the ride.

Directed and produced by László Illés, the horror feature officially arrived on digital platforms October 27, 2026, following its Los Angeles premiere at the Harmony Gold Theater and a limited theatrical run in September. The international release spans more than 50 countries and territories, giving horror fans around the world an opportunity to experience this particularly bloody interpretation of happily ever after.

And the cast alone should get the attention of longtime horror fans.

Mark Sheppard (Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica), Bonnie Aarons (The Nun, The Conjuring 2), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th franchise), and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Halloween) all appear in the film, bringing decades of horror and cult cinema history into one production.

Once Upon a Time, Things Went Horribly Wrong

The story follows a group of girlfriends who head to a secluded forest lodge for a bachelorette celebration. What begins as a weekend getaway quickly turns into a desperate fight for survival when they discover that the surrounding woods harbor a collection of bloodthirsty killers who believe themselves to be characters from classic fairy tales.

It's a premise that practically begs for some wonderfully deranged interpretations of familiar folklore. The childhood stories that once warned us about wandering into the woods have become the very nightmares waiting inside them.

The film's collection of fairy-tale characters also gives its recognizable cast some interesting roles to sink their teeth into.

Sheppard portrays The Ringmaster, while Aarons takes on The Witch, a character that seems particularly suited to the actress who terrified audiences as Valak. Berryman plays The Huntsman, Hodder lends his talents to The Big Bad Wolf, and McDowell portrays The Frog King.

It's quite a lineup. Between Hodder's legendary association with Jason Voorhees, Berryman's place in the history of exploitation horror, and McDowell's decades of unforgettable screen performances, EVER AFTER brings together actors whose careers have helped shape several generations of genre filmmaking.

The film also features Maria de Sá, Lydia Pearl Pentz, Riana Emma Balla, and Philippe Reinhardt.

Fairy-Tale Horror Goes International

Produced by Intergalactic Pictures, Inc., EVER AFTER represents another entry in the long tradition of filmmakers reclaiming the disturbing roots of traditional folklore.

There's something inherently unsettling about taking stories that have become synonymous with childhood innocence and returning them to a world where the monsters have teeth, the woods offer little protection, and happy endings come at a considerable cost.

With its combination of forest-bound survival horror, recognizable fairy-tale villains, and a cast packed with genre royalty, EVER AFTER looks to deliver a particularly nasty bedtime story for horror fans.

Following its theatrical engagements in the United States and Latin America, the film's digital rollout extends across North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Caribbean.

Where to Watch EVER AFTER

EVER AFTER is now available for digital rental and purchase, with platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Google Play/YouTube Movies & TV. Availability varies by country and territory.

The film runs approximately 125 minutes and is available through participating digital retailers.
