The award-winning horror short THE BABYSITTER MURDERS: TIMING’S OFF is now streaming on Crypt TV.
Directed by Orin Black, the film follows a babysitter whose quiet night takes a supernatural turn when she begins experiencing strange distortions in time—and sees a news report announcing her own murder.
With only eight minutes to work its dark magic, TIMING’S OFF blends supernatural horror, slasher tension and temporal disorientation into a compact suburban nightmare.
Elliot Frances Flynn stars as Grace Nichols. Flynn recently appeared as Zora in the second season of PEACEMAKER, opposite John Cena. Her additional credits include LONG BRIGHT RIVER, ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING, MARE OF EASTTOWN and Larry Fessenden’s TALES FROM BEYOND THE PALE.
Black co-wrote the screenplay with Gus Riley, drawing inspiration from the kinetic horror of Sam Raimi, Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett, along with the video games and comic books that shaped his creative voice.
The short made its world premiere at the 2024 Ethereal Horror Fest in Austin, Texas, where Black received the award for Best First-Time Filmmaker. Its festival run also brought home Best Short Film, Best Director and Best Actress at the New Jersey Horror Con & Film Festival, Best Editing at HorrorHound and the Audience Choice Award at Northeast Film Festival Horror Fest.
The cast also includes Giancarlo Gentile, Jake D. Williamson, Andrew Walker and William Nawrocki III.
