- Possession, Paranoia, and Pure Dread: Black Mandala Unleashes The Containment
The devil doesn’t need permission to walk through the front door, and in The Containment, it doesn’t knock—it takes. Black Mandala is back at it again, serving up another nightmare-laden descent into supernatural horror, this time with The Containment, the latest from directors Jack Zagha Kababie and Yossy Zagha. This isn’t just another possession flick—it’s a full-throttle psychological gut-punch wrapped in family trauma, where the horror goes beyond mere exorcisms and straight into the marrow of human despair. A young girl is slipping away, consumed by something vile, something ancient—something that won’t let go. Her mother, desperate and spiraling, calls in every so-called expert she can find: doctors, priests, exorcists. They all fail. The entity festering inside her daughter isn’t just another demon—it’s something worse. Something no rite can purge. Enter a devout nun, the last hope for salvation. But as she digs deeper, what she uncovers is far more terrifying than a simple case of possession. The real horror here isn’t just the demon—it’s the truth. WATCH THE TRAILER—IF YOU DARE. From a script by David Desola and Yossy Zagha, The Containment boasts a stacked cast including Fernanda Romero, Jack Gouldbourne, Alice Coulthard, Roger Cudney, Darren Clarke, Gia Hunter, and Edmund Dehn. The film’s oppressive, skin-crawling atmosphere is brought to life through the lens of cinematographer Antonio Riestra, with a nerve-shredding score by Edy Lan. This is horror the way it should be—unrelenting, claustrophobic, and dripping with dread. Spread the fear. Share the trailer. Let the nightmare spread.

- Survival Turns Sinister in 'A Deadly Ride'
Get ready for a frigid fight for survival when A Deadly Ride speeds onto streaming February 4th. This chilling thriller stars Jamie Bernadette (I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu, NCIS: New Orleans), B.J. Britt (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Vampires Suck), and Chris Whitcomb (Junction), with Glenn Ciano (Inkubus) at the helm. A ride-share trip gone horribly wrong is at the heart of this bloody battle for survival. Cary (Britt), a driver drowning in debt, has a side hustle robbing his passengers’ vacant homes. But when he picks up heartbroken Kailey (Bernadette), reeling from her boyfriend’s infidelity, fate takes a vicious turn. Cary accidentally hits Adrian (Whitcomb), a jogger, and in a moment of panic, he decides to eliminate witnesses—including Kailey. However, his plan backfires when both Kailey and Adrian survive. Injured and stranded in a relentless snowstorm, the two must join forces to evade their deranged pursuer, leading to a brutal fight for survival where justice and morality become as blurred as the blizzard around them. Director Glenn Ciano describes the film as “A WILD deadly ride, anchored by strong character performances by Jamie Bernadette and BJ Britt who are on an unstoppable collision course. I haven't had this much fun making a movie since Inkubus with Robert Englund.” For Jamie Bernadette, the grueling shoot added an extra layer of realism. “Almost the entire film was shot at nighttime in temperatures going as low as 2 degrees, and some nights filmed in a snowstorm. The harsh conditions weren’t just a backdrop—they became part of the story itself. I didn’t need to ‘act’ cold—I was cold. I think it truly brought out some great performances in all of us,” she shares. “Couple that with a phenomenal director, producing team, cast, and crew who were supportive and fun, and you have a gem of an experience.” With its claustrophobic winter setting, high-stakes tension, and raw performances, A Deadly Ride promises a nerve-shredding experience. Catch it on Amazon and Fandango starting February 4th, with more streaming platforms to follow in March. Check out the trailer below.

- Review of 'Drag Me to Hell' Collector’s Edition 4K UHD'
By Seth Metoyer, More Horror Movies, In the world of horror, Sam Raimi’s Drag Me to Hell stands as a testament to his unique directorial style, blending terror with a distinctive dark humor that’s unmistakably his. Originally released in 2009, Drag Me to Hell has since gained a cult following, and this latest 4K Collector’s Edition from Scream Factory is a fitting tribute, offering a visually stunning experience with a fresh scan from the original camera negative that brings Raimi’s vision to new life. The film follows Christine Brown (Alison Lohman), a loan officer with a bright future ahead—until a single, life-changing decision at work turns her existence into a nightmare. When Christine denies an elderly woman a mortgage extension, she finds herself cursed with a horrific fate: an eternity in Hell if she can’t break the curse within three days. Lohman delivers a layered performance that captures Christine’s escalating desperation and fear with remarkable sincerity, embodying Raimi’s penchant for strong, sympathetic leads thrust into horrifying circumstances. Over time, the film has grown in reputation, especially as Raimi fans revisit it with appreciation for its stylish, gleefully twisted narrative. Lohman’s lead performance holds up superbly, and her chemistry with Justin Long is both authentic and amusing, grounding the supernatural chaos with a sense of relatability. Raimi’s stylistic flourishes—dynamic camera angles, atmospheric visuals, and humor that complements the horror—remain as sharp as ever, proving that Drag Me to Hell continues to charm, frighten, and delight. This 3-disc collector’s set is more than just a re-release; it’s a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes features, including production diaries with Raimi and interviews with cast members that offer insight into the making of the film. Fans of Drag Me to Hell will find the new bonus content invaluable, and the 4K presentation itself makes this a must-have for devotees of Raimi’s work. Now available at ShoutStudios.com, Drag Me to Hell in 4K UHD is an essential addition for horror enthusiasts looking to experience Raimi’s macabre masterpiece at its best.
- A Sluggish Descent into Nothingness: Immaculate (2024) Review
By Seth Metoyer, MoreHorrorMovies.com , In Immaculate, the tension-laden story follows a young woman (played by Sydney Sweeney) who finds herself entangled in a mysterious and seemingly malevolent situation involving an unborn child whose origins seem anything but ordinary. Set against an atmospheric backdrop, the film teases a haunting premise that promises an unsettling journey but ultimately struggles to deliver the chilling experience it aims for. From the start, Immaculate drags with pacing so sluggish that any initial intrigue quickly fades. Although the production value is commendable, with some well-composed shots and a polished visual aesthetic, these qualities alone can’t salvage a film that feels like a slog from scene to scene. Even Sydney Sweeney, whose performance is notably solid, can’t shoulder the weight of this story on her own. Her commitment to the role shines through, but it’s ultimately wasted on a film that offers no real payoff. For horror fans craving a more impactful experience, The First Omen (2024) proves a better choice, delivering a similar storyline but executing it with far greater finesse. Ad for Immaculate, nothing stands out as memorable—not a single moment to revisit. Even the score, though competent, simply fades into the background, failing to add any additional depth or atmosphere. Unfortunately, Immaculate is a missed opportunity in every phase, offering little in the way of lasting impact. While it may have the look of a well-made movie, it lacks the substance and drive to make it worthwhile. Rating: ★★☆☆☆ 2 out of 5 stars
